Bittersweet
It is always a joy and an honor to share in what should be one of the biggest days of a person’s life. The joy is evidenced in the photo above. I can almost hear Robert. “You mean we can kiss now?”
However, marriage always leads to change beginning with a man leaving his father and mother and cleaving to his wife. Thereby the two become one flesh. And many other relationships are rightly altered and even subordinated by marriage. At times leaving and cleaving means physical relocation as it did for Mary Elizabeth and Robert. The distance that separates the Richardsons and Pirettis is a thorn in our sides.
So we rejoice. And yet we ache. The marriage is bittersweet!

bittersweet indeed. The Pirettis miss the Richardsons constantly! And this is probably my favorite picture of the whole shebang. You are a blessing to us!!!!!

Feelings are mutual!

I think John’s head thrown back in laughter demonstrates what most of us felt – sheer joy in celebrating the beautiful love that ME and Robert share. We were blessed to have been a part of the big day.

Yet we are so blessed to have them living nearby – in fact I got to see them today and tomorrow they have invited us to dinner. It is a blessing to be able to see them growing their relationship and beginning to settle into the life God has provided up here. One thing is so evident, that is God is mightily at work in the life of this new family and it is so exciting to watch Him grow and stretch and mature Robert and Mary Elizabeth.
